Raw Food Diet Recipes

The raw food diet is generating a lot of interest these days as health problems from diabetes, obesity and other become epidemic. The raw food diet benefits include healthy weightloss, detoxing your body of disease and illness causing toxins, regulating blood sugar, lowering cholesterol and much more.

If you're new to raw food recipes, there is a lot of valuable, free information on the Vitamix website. I purchased a Vitamix so my husband and I could drink green smoothies every day. You can throw any type of fruit or veggie into this powerful machine and a tasty smoothie emerges. We eat Swiss Chard, Kale, dandelion greens, spinach and other green daily in this simple raw food recipe. If you don't have a Vitamix and would like to order one, you can get free shipping through the link above.

We don't eat a totally raw food diet but a much larger percentage of our diet is from raw foods now. I make enough green smoothie in the morning so we can have a large portion then and then a smaller portion at lunch. We also eat a huge salad at dinner each night, with healthy homemade salad dressing. One salad dressing recipe I love is the red raspberry salad dressing recipe that came in my free Vitamix cookbook.
Other raw food books which I've gotten an enormous amount of use from are these:

The Raw Food Detox Diet: The Five-Step Plan for Vibrant Health and Maximum Weight Loss. Since starting the green smoothies and eating more raw foods, my husband and I have each lost about 7 pounds in 6 months. Not a huge amount but then we weren't really trying to lose weight either. I recently ordered this raw food detox book and it is packed with great information.

Raw Energy: 124 Raw Food Recipes for Energy Bars, Smoothies, and Other Snacks to Supercharge Your Body. I loved this raw food recipe book. Sometimes you guy a recipe book and only end up making one or two of the recipes but not with this one. If you have kids, they'll love the great raw food snacks. I made many variations of their protein balls and we eat them every day as a healthy snack.

The Everything Raw Food Recipe Book (Everything Series) Delicious raw food recipes!
If you're new to the raw food diet, it isn't has hard as you think to get started and, contrary to what some raw food advocates would have you think, you don't need to go 100% raw now or ever. However, the more raw foods you can get into your diet, the healthier you will be.
