Self-Healing - Is It Possible to Create Good Health?

I believe in self-healing and I write many articles encouraging people to try alternative therapies like yoga, meditation, positive thoughts, vitamins and herbs. Recently, I had to admit I was not following my own self-healing advice.

About two years ago, I started having a tingling sensation throughout my entire body. It was as if my body was falling asleep. My arms and legs tingled, even my face and mouth tingled. It was ever present, although it seemed less in the mornings.

I did the practical things to find out the cause of this strange illness. I went to the doctor and then to a neurologist, who did some tests. I had no nerve damage and he couldn't find a cause. I even tried a medication, although I am against taking medications generally, but it didn't help. He told me "If you know it won't kill you, maybe you'll relax and it will go away."

I tried acupuncture, which helped while I was undergoing treatments but the tingling returned later. I tried chiropractics too, which seemed to ease the tingling in my arms but didn't help the rest of me.

It didn't. I changed doctors and the new one sent me for a second opinion on the tingling. The second doctor didn't do any tests but he did say that my symptoms didn't fit any of the illnesses he usually dealt with and he said, "You may never know the cause of the tingling sensation."

Lately the tingling seemed to become worse, which in turn stressed me out. So was the stress making it worse or was I stressed because it really WAS worse? The tingling did improve whenever I was proactively doing anything to improve it, such as acupuncture and chiropractic adjustments so was it just something I created in my own mind?

For me to have these physical problems, with no known cause or cure, is very ironic to me. I've always told people to be proactive toward their health and I believe we can create good health with our thoughts. Why was this not working for me then?

I decided that, although I eat a very nutritional diet, I drink Calli Tea to detox daily and I exercise daily, I wasn't trying other things like meditation, EFT and other self-healing principles. I had tried these off and on but never really stuck with them to see if it would ultimately ease the tingling sensations.

I've been listening to Louise Hay's great CD Self-Healing which is helping me to change my thoughts to help me back to good health.

I believe, as Louise Hay says, that I created this dis-ease for some reason and it's up to me to bring myself back to perfect health. I am willing to release the pattern in me that has created this condition. I acknowledge my own power - both to create the problem and to take my power back and create health.

I've been taking a yoga class for about 2 months but recently had to skip nearly 3 weeks when I went on vacation. Did I feel stiff and ungainly! Now I'm back to the yoga again, which includes some meditation. I am also meditating on my own for 15 minutes a day.

I would like to hear from others who may be suffering from a tingling sensation throughout their bodies. I've read forums and there are many people out there who also can't find a cause or cure for this. I'll keep readers posted on how my own self-healing is going.

Update to this blog entry: I recently discovered another helpful program for self-healing - The Silva Method of Mind Body Healing which includes meditations and other methods to learn to control your thoughts and create good health. I will also be blogging about this process as I go through it.

You Can Heal Your Life Affirmations Kit

Recently I saw the Louise Hay Movie, "You Can Heal Your Life" and loved it. I decided to order her You Can Heal Your Life affirmations kit, after learning in the movie how affirmations can make such a difference in allowing good things into my life.

Many people may have read the Abraham books by Ester and Jerry Hicks. In the extended version of Louise Hay's movie, Abraham gave me a totally new perspective on affirmations. If you've read the books, you know the steps in the Law of Attraction philosophy: Ask, Receive, Allow.

Abraham said that many people think that affirmations are in step one, the asking. The truth is tho, that affirmations are in step three. Affirmations help us to allow what has already been given to us. Affirmations help you wrap your mind around the idea that whatever you ask for is granted.

I thought the You Can Heal Your Life Affirmations kit would help me to allow more good things into my life and I was not disappointed. One thing I loved about it was the beautiful magnetic board with magnetic words and letters so you can create your own affirmations and put them in a spot you'll see every day. There are also affirmation cards to carry with you.

The affirmations kit includes an audio CD that you can listen to daily and a little guidebook with explanations and exercises, plus dozens of great affirmations to help you get started.

Since receiving this great affirmations kit, I've used it daily and it's helping me to achieve a life of greater health and prosperity, plus I just feel better all day long. I've begun replacing all negative thoughts that cross my mind with positive, life affirming thoughts which are creating more loving relationships in my life and are opening me up to receive the prosperity that the Universe has in escrow for me.

If you've struggled putting the Law of Attraction into practice in your life, I'd highly recommend Louise Hay's You Can Heal Your Life Affirmation Kit.

A Review You Can Heal Your Life - The Movie

You Can Heal Your Life The Movie by Louise Hay 125x125

I saw Louise Hay on Oprah's show recently where she talked about her new movie, You Can Heal Your Life so I decided to order it. It was terrific. If you've seen The Secret and were left thinking "the law of attraction was a great idea but how do I implement it?" then this movie is for you.

Louise Hay is a very spry 80 years old now and she has hundreds of books to her name, most published by her Hay House Publishing. Hay House also publishes other inspirational authors like my favorite, Wayne Dyer.

For some reason, although I've read many, many books on the law of attraction and manifesting your life, I'd never read any by Louise Hay. After seeing this movie, I will be reading some of her books!

This movie contains interviews with Louise, Wayne Dyer, Ester Hicks and Abraham, Christiane Northrup, Cheryl Richardson, Dorene Virtue and others, all talking about their own experiences and how to create your life through your thoughts.

The main thrust of much of the movie is about how creating affirmations for your life, keeping them in front of you and repeating them many times a day can help you change thought patterns set by a life time of self criticism, self doubt, even self loathing. Whatever story you've been telling yourself hundreds of times a day, can be changed to a better one.

I got the extended version of the movie and I'm glad I did. It contained the full interviews with the people in the movie. One interview contained a real AAAHHHAAA moment for me.

I've read nearly every Abraham book by Ester and Jerry Hicks and i know their formula for manifesting your life: Ask, Receive, Allow. As we all probably know, it's the allowing that hangs us up, due mostly to our own mental conditioning and what we believe is true. Abraham said whatever we ask for, we receive instantly but then we must allow it into our lives. Many people think saying the affirmations belongs in step one. It's where we start, right? No. Affirmations are really step 3. What we ask for has always and already been granted to us (maybe in a form we don't yet see or appreciate it) and by saying the affirmations, we allow it into our lives.

One problem I had with the movie, The Secret, was that Ester Hicks and Abraham and Wayne Dyer were not in it. They have been writing about conscious creation for over 25 years and their absence, to me, was glaring. The Secret may be a good place to start, but You Can Heal Your Life is a better place to finish.

If you've struggled with how to put the Law of Attraction into action in your life, see this movie! If you can't afford the extended version, at least get the movie itself.
