Looking for an Organic Toothpaste?

Oprah recently did a show about the toxic ingredients in body care products and what to look out for. I am hoping this really makes people more aware of the possible toxic ingredients in products they use every day.

A while back I did a little research on toothpaste ingredients. I had a toothpaste I'd used for a long time that claimed to be "so natural you could eat it." Well, I was shocked and frustrated to see 4 of the potentially toxic ingredients in this toothpast-which wasn't cheap to buy either!

My search for a 100% certified organic toothpaste led me to Miessence 100% certified organic skin care products.

Keep in mind that organic skin and body care product labeling is a very gray area. A product may say "Uses organic ingredients" or "all natural" but that does NOT mean that all ingredients are 100% certified organic.

Do you know the ingredients in your current brand of toothpaste? If not, check the label and look for these toxic ingredients. Here are just a few of the toxic ingredients found in many commercial toothpastes which have been linked to cancer:
  • SilicaHydrophobic SilicaEthanol
  • Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
  • Sodium Fluoride
  • Nano Titanium Dioxide
  • Polyethylene
  • Micronized Titanium Dioxide
  • Titanium Dioxide

A more complete list of the toxic ingredients found in personal care products can be found on my Miessence website and I'll add the link to the end of this article.

Compare the above list of ingredients to those found in Miessence, which is 100% certified organic toothpaste:

  • Organic Aloe Vera leaf juice
  • Purified Water
  • Sodium Bicarbonate (Baking Soda)
  • Non-GMO Xanthan Gum
  • Sea Salt
  • Organic Spearmint Essential Oil
  • Organic Peppermint Essential Oil
  • Organic Cinnamon Leaf Essential Oil
  • Organic Clove Bud Essential Oil
  • Stevia Rebaudiana Extract

Which toothpaste would you prefer for your children? If you're like me, you don't want to expose yourself, or your family, to harmful chemicals and toxic ingredients.

Be part of the solution! Check the label of your current products and consider an organic alternative.
